Client protection
Privacy & Security
We handle Social Security numbers, income records and bank details for a living. Here is exactly how that information is protected, and what is and is not shared. Current as of August 2026.
What we share, and what we never share
As a tax practice, TaxMap LLC d/b/a TaxMap Advisors is a financial institution under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which means we are required to tell you how we collect, share and protect your information. The short version: we share it to do your work, and for nothing else.
| Reason | Do we share? |
|---|---|
| Everyday business purposes — processing your work, maintaining your file, responding to court orders and legal investigations | Yes |
| Our marketing — to offer our own products and services to you | No |
| Joint marketing with other financial companies | No |
| Affiliates' everyday business purposes — your transactions and experiences | No |
| Affiliates' everyday business purposes — your creditworthiness | No |
| Affiliates marketing to you | No |
| Nonaffiliates marketing to you | No |
How your documents reach us
Please do not email tax documents. Ordinary email and messaging are not secure channels for a Social Security number, a complete tax return, bank or routing details, or payroll records.
We provide a secure upload link instead. Files are encrypted in your own browser before they are uploaded, which means the server holding them cannot read their contents. Ask and we will send you a link.
If you do send something through email or a messaging app without being asked, we apply reasonable safeguards once it arrives. But we cannot control the security of your device, your account, your network, or a third-party platform before it reaches us — and receiving something that way does not mean we requested it or can vouch for how it travelled.
Verify anything unusual
Never act on an unexpected or urgent message about bank accounts, payroll, direct deposit, payments, refunds, or a change of contact details — even when it appears to come from us.
Call (781) 803-0728, or another number you already know to be ours, and confirm it. Do not rely on contact details contained in the suspicious message itself. We may pause a request until it is verified. We would rather be slow than wrong.
Please also avoid sending passwords, multi-factor authentication codes or full account credentials. Where practical, enter credentials directly with the provider rather than passing them to us.
How we protect it
We maintain a written information security program and use safeguards that meet federal requirements for financial institutions, covering both our systems and our physical files. We request only what is reasonably necessary, move received documents into approved business systems, and remove duplicate copies once they are no longer needed.
No transmission method and no third-party platform can be guaranteed completely secure, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling something. What we can tell you is that the safeguards are real, written down, and followed.
This website specifically
This site is a set of static pages. It has no login, no contact form, no advertising cookies and no social-media tracking pixel.
The S-corp calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you type are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, are never stored, and disappear when you close the tab.
Our host keeps standard server logs — IP address, request time, browser user-agent — used for security and reliability. Booking a call opens Calendly, an independent service governed by its own privacy policy rather than this page.
Your information, your questions
Federal law limits what a tax return preparer may do with the information in your return. We do not use or disclose it for anything beyond preparing and filing your work unless you give written consent, or unless disclosure is permitted or required by law.
Clients receive the full Client Privacy Notice and the Secure Communication & Data Handling Notice directly as part of their engagement package. To request a copy, ask what we hold, correct something, or raise a concern:

Questions about how your data is handled?
It is a fair question, and a good one to ask any tax preparer.
